For almost 23 years, Madsen Giersing has been working in partnership with Curtain Bros on their Motukea Project in Papua New Guinea.

In our latest update, we are delighted to share the works undertaken to upgrade Berth 4 to improve the wharf’s performance and increase its lifespan.

CEO Lasse Madsen outlined the works “This project is a great example of how engineering can help increase the lifespan of a facility, remediate a structure and ensure operational efficiency and performance going forward.”

“Our team were tasked with rejuvenating the structure and did this through the use of pre-cast concrete sandwich panels, which we incorporated into the existing wall. This approach provided a simple, cost-effective solution that was installed quickly, ensuring Berth 4 could return to operation as soon as practical,” said Lasse.
